Simple + quick morning skincare routine with clean products
Updated: Aug 27, 2021
It seems like skincare products + routines are a pretty trendy topic. So I wanted to share what my typical morning skincare routine looks like since I've switched to clean skin care products - you can read about my clean product switch here.
A quick background about my skin before we get into specific products:
- I have combination skin (oily T-Zone but dry cheeks)
- In the winter months my skin tends to be drier
- I do not suffer from acne, but do get breakouts once a month around the time of my period
- I am in my late twenties + want to be preventive when it comes to my routine + products
After cleansing, I'll pat dry my face + use a Vitamin C serum to help brighten the skin. Using a Vitamin C serum in the morning is great if you want to reduce the appearance of dark spots, even out skin tone plus it is an antioxidant! I'm currently using Youth to the People's 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum + really enjoy it. I love the feeling of the product on my skin + find it absorbs really well. Plus I love the smell of this product!
Another Vitamin C serum I have used in the past + really enjoyed was The Ordinary's Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%. It's at a great price point + gets the job done! It too is fast absorbing + helps to brighten the skin. Keep in mind that this brand isn't clean (in case this is something you look for in your skincare products).
My final step during my morning skincare routine is applying a sunscreen to help protect my skin whether I'm staying in the house or going out. I sort of cheat with this final step + look for a moisturizer + sunscreen all in one!
If you have any sunscreen options that you love, please leave them down below + I'd love to try them! Also, feel free to share your skincare routine + which clean brands you love to use.
